Benjamin Bassler [1]

a minister of the Reformed (Dutch) Church, was born at Berne, N. Y., 1808. He was graduated from Union College in 1830, and from the New Brunswick Seminary in 1833. He served the Church at New Rhinebeck and Sharon from 1833 to 1838, and at Farmerville from 1838 to 1866. He died at Farmerville in 1866. Mr. Bassler was of a cheerful disposition, and had a kindness of manner, with piety, which won all hearts and made him a successful worker for Christ. See Corwin, Manual of the Ref.
