Fausset's Bible Dictionary [2]
1. (1 Chronicles 27:4) DODO (1 Chronicles 11:12; 2 Samuel 23:8). Possibly the clause "Eleazar, the son of," has fallen out before "Dodai" in 1 Chronicles 27:4. Jewish tradition makes Dodo or Dodai the brother of Jesse.
2. DODO of Bethlehem (2 Samuel 23:24; 1 Chronicles 11:12).
3. Dodai of Issachar (Judges 10:1).

(Hebrews Doday', דּוֹדִי, prob. another form for Dodo; Sept. Δωδία v.r. Δωδαϊ v and Δωδαϊ v α, Vulg. Dudia), an Ahohite, the chief officer of the contingent for the second month under David (1 Chronicles 27:4); probably the same as DODO (See Dodo) (q.v.), whose son Eleazar was one of David's three chief braves (2 Samuel 23:9; 1 Chronicles 11:12). By some the words בן אלעזר, "Eleazar the son of," are supposed to have accidentally escaped in transcription from the text in 1 Chronicles 27:4 making this person the father of the military character there spoken of.
