CHESULLOTH (  Joshua 19:18 ). The same as Chisloth-tabor ,   Joshua 19:12 . A place on the border of Zebulun. Now the ruin Iksâl at the foot of the Nazareth hills, in the fertile plain W. of Tabor.

(Hebrews with the article hak-Kesulloth ´,  הִכְּסֻלּוֹת,  the hopes [or, according to some,  the loins, from its position on the "flank" or slope of the mountain; comp.  Chesil, Chesalon, etc.]; Sept.  Χασελώθ v. r.  Χασαλώθ ) , a city of the tribe of Issachar, mentioned between Jezreel and Shunem, apparently near the border ( Joshua 19:18). It is probably the same with CHISLOTH-TABOR (See Chisloth-Tabor) (q.v.) of  Joshua 19:12, and the simple TABOR of  1 Chronicles 6:77; the modern  Iksal (Robinson's  Researches, 3:182; comp. Schwarz,  Palest. p. 166). Eusebius and Jerome  (Onomast. s.v.  Ἀχελέθωθ, Accheseluth;  Χασελοῦς  , Chaselus) describe it as still extant under the same name ( Χεαλοῦς,  Chasalus).

ke -sul´ōth (  הכּסלּות , ha - keṣullōth  ; B,  Χασαλώθ , Chasalō̇th , A,  Αχεσαλώθ , Achesalō̇th ): A town on the border of Zebulun ( Joshua 19:18 ), the same as Chisloth-tabor ( Joshua 19:12 ). It is represented by the modern village Iksāl on the northern edge of Esdraelon, circa 3 miles West of Mt. Tabor.
