Me'ah. (a hundred). The tower of Me'Ah. One of the towers of the wall of Jerusalem when rebuilt by Nehemiah, Nehemiah 3:1; Nehemiah 12:39, appears to have been situated somewhere at the northeast part of the city, outside of the walls of Zion.

A tower in the walls of Jerusalem when rebuilt by Nehemiah. The word signifies 'a hundred;' but what this refers to, or where the tower was situated, is not known. Nehemiah 3:1; Nehemiah 12:39 . R.V. reads Hammeah.

(Hebrews Meah מֵאָה , a hundred, as often; Sept. ἑκατόν, Μεά; Vulg. cenztum, Emnath), a tower in Jerusalem, situated on the eastern wall (Nehemiah 3:1; Nehemiah 12:39), probably at the north-eastern angle of the Temple enclosure (Strong's Harmony and Expos. of the Gospels, Append. ii, p. 19; but it is not likely that the outer wall was different from that of the Temple, as supposed by Dr. Barclay, City of the Great King, p. 152).
