a German theologian, was born Jan. 29, 1712, at Hattenhofen, in Wirtemberg, and educated at Tiibingen. In 1741 he became pastor at Geneva of a German Lutheran church, and in 1745 he became the instructor and travelling preacher of the king of Saxony, and resided for some time at Paris.
