a Roman Catholic divine, was born at Turnhout, in Brabant. He studied at the University of Louvain, where he was a pupil of Adrian Florent, afterwards Adrian VI, and became professor of theology there. In the controversy between the Lutherans and Roman Catholics he took an active part; and, according to the testimony of Erasmus, in one of his letters, disputed both coolly and learnedly.
