Hastings' Dictionary of the Bible [1]

Addan ( 1Es 5:36 ). Some of the inhabitants of this place returned with Zerubbabel, but were unable to prove their true Isr. descent by showing to what clan or family they belonged (  Ezra 2:59 ). The name does not appear in the later lists in   Ezra 10:1-44 ,   Nehemiah 10:1-39 . In   Nehemiah 7:61 it appears as Addon .

Smith's Bible Dictionary [2]

Ad'dan. (Strong or Stony). One of the places from which some of the captivity returned with Zerubbabel to Judea who could not show their pedigree as Israelites.  Ezra 2:59. Called Addon  Nehemiah 7:61.

Morrish Bible Dictionary [3]
