a Presbyterian minister, was born at Newberry, S. C., in 1825. He was educated in Oglethorpe University, Milledgeville, Ga., and studied in the theological seminary at Columbia, S. C. He was licensed about 1850 by the South Carolina Presbytery, and became pastor of Hopewell Church.
