a Swiss Protestant theologian, was born in 1810, and died at Geneva, June 18, 1885, professor of Hebrew and doctor of theology. Segond is best known as the latest translator of the Bible into French, whose name will be remembered with that of Le Fevre, Olivetan; De Sacy, Martin, and Osterwaid.
