( עִרְבוֹת מוֹאָב , Arboth' Moab', Deserts Of Moab), a plain east of the Jordan, opposite Jericho ( Numbers 22:1; Numbers 26:13; Joshua 13:32), where the Israelites under Moses pitched their encampment on their way into ‘ Canaan ( Numbers 31:12; Numbers 33:48 sq.; Deuteronomy 1:1; Deuteronomy 1:5), in the vicinity of Nebo ( Deuteronomy 34:1; Deuteronomy 34:8).
