He was installed prebendary of [[Winchester]] on May 23, 1723; was chaplain to king [[George]] I and George II; was promoted to a prebend in the [[Church]] of [[Westminster]] on May 8, 1731; was made dean of [[Exeter]] on May 12, 1740, and died May 31, 1742.
