He then began the study of theology at Union Theological Seminary, and after one year went to Auburn Theological Seminary, where he graduated in 1851. He was ordained a minister in the Congregational [[Church]] March 9, 1853, was pastor of a Church at East Poultney, Vt., for one year, and died at that place May 6, 1854.
