Fausset's Bible Dictionary [1]

A town of Simeon ( 1 Chronicles 4:32). The statement of  Joshua 19:7 and  Joshua 15:42 implies Tochen in Chronicles is another name for Ether, in the Shephelah or "low hills" between the mountains of Judah and the maritime low plain.

Smith's Bible Dictionary [2]

To'chen. (Task). A place mentioned in  1 Chronicles 4:32 only, among the towns of Simeon.

Holman Bible Dictionary [3]

 1 Chronicles 4:32 Joshua 15:42 Joshua 19:7

Hastings' Dictionary of the Bible [4]

TOCHEN . An unidentified town of Simeon (  1 Chronicles 4:32 ).

Morrish Bible Dictionary [5]

City of Simeon.  1 Chronicles 4:32 . Not identified.

Easton's Bible Dictionary [6]

 1 Chronicles 4:32

International Standard Bible Encyclopedia [7]

tō´ken ( תּכן , tōkhen , "task," "measure"; Codex Vaticanus Θόκκα , Thókka  ; Codex Alexandrinus Θόχχαν , Thóchchan ): One of the cities of Simeon, mentioned with Rimmen and Ashan (  1 Chronicles 4:32 ). The name does not appear in Joshua's list ( Joshua 19:7 ), but in that place the Septuagint gives Thokka, from which we may infer that the name has fallen out in the Hebrew. It is not identified.

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature [8]

(Heb. To'ken, תֹּכֵן , Task Or Measure [as in Ezekiel 5:18; 45:11]; Sept. Θοκκάν v.r. Θοχχάν ; Vulg. Thochen ) , one of the towns in the tribe of Simeon ( 1 Chronicles 4:32); probably the same elsewhere ( Joshua 15:24) called TELEM (See Telem) (q.v.) or Telaim ( 1 Samuel 15:4).
