He entered Brasenose College, Oxford, and in 1596 was appointed professor of astronomy in the college lately founded in London by sir [[Thomas]] Gresham. He died November 4, 1613. He wrote many works, among them two tracts upon the observation of the Lord's day, in which he maintained the [[Catholic]] opinion that there is no obligation to observe the Sunday as a [[Jewish]] Sabbath, as the [[Puritans]] taught.
