Sebastian Barradas (Or Barradius) [1]
Barradas (Or Barradius), Sebastian,
a Portuguese theologian, was born in 1542. He wras of a noble family, and belonged to the Jesuit Order. He taught at Coimbra and at Evora both rhetoric and phiiosophy, and so brilliant was he as an instructor that he was surnamed the St. Paul of Portugal. His conduct was like to that of a saint; and he was held in such high veneration that even a piece of his apparel was sought for. He died April 14, 1615.
