Remi Franois Chassel [1]

a French artist, was born at Metz, in Lorraine, in 1666, and received instruction from Lecomte. He was appointed professor of sculpture in the academy at Nancy, and. executed a large number of figures, among which are The Dead Christ, in the Church des Carmes, at Nancy; also one of Charity.
