Jerome Simon Van Alphen [1]

a Dutch theologian, was born at Hanau, May 23, 1665; studied at Franeker and Leyden; became pastor at Warmond, and afterward at Amsterdam; and finally, in 1715, professor of theology at Utrecht, which office he filled until his death at Utrecht, Nov. 7, 1742.
