Hodgson Casson [1]
an English Wesleyan minister, famous for his zeal, eccentricity, and success, was born at Workington, Cumberland, in 1788. He was converted under the Methodist ministry, applied himself to study, became a local preacher-preaching and being persecuted everywhere and was received by the Conference in 1815. His circuits were principally in the north of England and in Scotland. After a ministry of remarkable earnestness, he reluctantly retired from the active service in 1838, residing in Berstal, and died Nov. 23,1851.
