Fernando De Salazar Chirinos [1]

a Spanish theologian, was born at Cuenca in the latter part of the 16th century. He entered the order of the Jesuits, became director to the duke of Olivarez, and preacher to Philip IV; but refused all clerical dignities. He died in 1640, leaving, Expositio in Proverbia Salomonis (Paris, 1619): Defensio pro Immaculata Deiparae Virginis Conceptione (Alcala, 1618; Cologne, 1621, 1622; Paris, 1625): - Pratica de la Frequente Comunion (Madrid, 1622, 8vo).
