eg - zam´in , eg - zam - i - nā´shun  : דּרש , dārash , "to follow," "inquire," "make inquisition" ( Ezra 10:16 ); and בּחן , bāḥan , "to test," "investigate," "prove," "tempt" ( Psalm 26:2 ). The former was the judicial term. ἀνακρίνω , anakrı́nō , "scrutinize," "investigate," "interrogate" (in court), "judge," "search" ( Luke 23:14;  Acts 4:9;  Acts 12:19;  Acts 28:18;  1 Corinthians 9:3 ); and ἀνετάζω , anetázō , "to investigate" (judicially), "examine" ( Acts 22:24 ,  Acts 22:29 ). Also δοκιμάζω , dokimázō , "to test," "examine," "try" ( 1 Corinthians 11:28 the King James Version); and πειράζω , peirázō , "scrutinize," "discipline" ( 2 Corinthians 13:5 the King James Version). The noun ἀνάκρισις , anákrisis , "examination," "investigation," occurs in  Acts 25:26 . See also Courts , Judicial .
