<p> a colored Presbyterian minister, was born in New York in 1793. He was licensed by the [[Presbytery]] of Philadelphia, October 31, 1819, and in 1823 was called to the First African [[Church]] of Philadelphia, where he preached for some years. From 1845 to 1847 he served as a missionary to the colored people of New York city, and during this time organized [[Emmanuel]] Church. In 1855 he joined the [[Nassau]] Presbytery of Brooklyn, L.I., where he labored till his death, in 1858. See Wilson, Presb. Hist. Almanac, 1860, page 69. </p>
