<p> a Presbyterian minister, was born at Durham, N.Y., Feb. 18,1788. He graduated at Union [[College]] in 1811, and spent over two years in [[Princeton]] Theological Seminary. He was ordained by the North [[River]] [[Presbytery]] in 1817, and spent a year as missionary in Ohio, Michigan, New York, and Pennsylvania. His first charge was Westfield, N.Y. (1819-22), and his next Lowville (1825-29), and afterwards he served at [[Denmark]] and Whitestown, N. Y., and Dixon, Ill. He died at the last-named place, Jan. 30, 1868. See Gen. Cat. of Princeton Theol. Sem. 1881, p. 16. </p>
