He had, it is said, a perfect knowledge of Hebrew, Greek, and Latin. Appointed archbishop of Milan in 1503, he died before taking possession of his see. 'The six sonnets which Argelloti attributes to him, and which he indicates as first in the collection of the [[Academy]] of Transformation of Milan in 1548, are rather the work of Ottavio, son of Giovanni Angelo.
