sos´tra - tus ( Σώστρατος , Sṓstratos , in Codex Venetus Σος -, Sos -): "The governor of the citadel" of Jerusalem under Antiochus 4 (Epiphanes). His duty was to gather the revenues of the city and province for the imperial treasury.
