( מוֹשָׁב, a residence; Exodus 12:40; elsewhere "dwelling," "habitation," etc.; παροικία, 1 Peter 1:17; so the verb and noun, παροικέω and πάροικος ). The 430 years of the "sojourning of the children of Israel in Egypt" ( Galatians 3:17) may be reckoned thus:
