Clouet (Or Clowet), Peter,
a Belgian engraver, was born at Antwerp in 1606, and studied under Spierre and Bloemaert at Rome. The following are his principal works: The Descent From The Cross; The Virgin Suckling The Infant Jesus; St. Michael Discomfiting The Evil Spirit. He died at Antwerp in 1668. See Spooner, Biog.
