He was for several years curate of St. Margaret's, Ipswich, where he was held in high esteem, and preached with much success. Subsequently he left the Established Church, and was baptized at Stepney [[College]] [[Chapel]] in October, 1837, and in the April following he became pastor of the Church in Keppel street, where he remained for a short time, and then resigned on account .of the state of his health. His death took place April 8, 1842. He was the author of a volume of poems on religious subjects, a volume of sermons, and several minor pieces. See Report of English Baptist Union, 1842, p. 23. (J.
