Hastings' Dictionary of the Bible [1]

NYMPHA(S). Aninfluential Colossian Christian (  Colossians 4:16 ). His house was used as a meeting-place for Christians. The question of the correct reading is a difficult one, and it is uncertain whether it should be Nymphas or Nympha, a man or a woman. Nothing further is known of the person named.
