<p> a Presbyterian minister, was born in [[Chester]] County, Pa., in 1801. He made a profession of religion in 1819; graduated at Jefferson [[College]] in 1820 and [[Princeton]] Seminary in 1826; and entered the ministry of the Presbyterian [[Church]] in 1827. In 1828 he was employed by the American Sunday school Union for the purpose of establishing [[Sabbath]] schools through the states of New York and Pennsylvania. He labored in [[Georgia]] as a missionary for nearly three years, when he removed to [[Alabama]] and joined the Tuscaloosa Presbytery. He died at Eastoun Pa., July 5, 1865. See Wilson, Presb. Hist. Almanac, 1866, p. 89. </p>
