a clergyman of the English Church, was born about the year 1638. He became rector of Doddington, and afterwards prebend of Ely. He died in 1686. His chief writings were several historico-political works defending the action of Royalists in their treatment of king Charles I; the principal publication is An Impartial Collection of the Great Affairs of State fomn the Beginning of the Scotch Rebellion in 1639 to the Murder of King Charles.
