<p> a learned Jew, who flourished in [[France]] about A.D. 1260. He wrote a commentary on the Pentateuch, usually styled '''''חִזְקוּנַי''''' '''''טֵפֶר''''' ''',''' in which he made large use of the Midrashic literature; indeed, it is almost entirely a compilation from some twenty older annotators. It was printed by Bomberg at [[Venice]] in 1524, fol., and again at [[Basle]] in 1606, and in 1559 a carefully revised edition, by Vittorino Eliano, appeared at Cremona, 4to.
