Morrish Bible Dictionary [1]

Temporary habitations made of branches of trees, used especially at the Feast of Tabernacles,  Leviticus 23:42,43;  Nehemiah 8:14-17 . Jonah made himself such a shelter.  Jonah 4:5 . They were also used for cattle.  Genesis 33:17 . The Hebrew is succoth.
