Smith's Bible Dictionary [1]

Be-e'roth of the Children of Ja'akan. The wells of the tribe of Bene-Jaakan, (that is, sons of Jakkan), which formed one of the halting-places of the Israelites in the desert.  Deuteronomy 10:6. In  Numbers 33:31, the name is given as Bene-Jaakan only.

( Deuteronomy 10:6;  Numbers 33:31.) Israel's halting place next before Mosera, where Aaron died. The tribe took its name from Jaakan, son of Ezer, son of Seirthe Horite ( 1 Chronicles 1:42 = Akan,  Genesis 36:27).
