Fausset's Bible Dictionary [1]

A town of Simeon ( 1 Chronicles 4:33), identical with Baalath Beer ( Joshua 19:8), i.e. "Baal of the well", "holy well". Also called Ramath (Negeb "the heights (Ramath) of the S." (Negeb), a parched region ( Joshua 19:8).
