Hastings' Dictionary of the Bible [1]

AEDIAS ( 1E Esther 9:27 ). One of those who agreed to put away their ‘strange’ wives. The name is probably a corruption for Elijah of Ezra 10:26 .

International Standard Bible Encyclopedia [2]

ā -ē̇ -dı̄´as ( Ἀηδείας , Aēdeı́as ). Mentioned in 1 Esdras 9:27, being one of those who agreed to divorce their alien wives. This name is supposed to be a corruption of the Greek Ἡλία , Hēlı́a , there being no Hebrew equivalent for it, and in Ezra 10:26 , the name occurs in the correct form as Elijah ( אליּה , 'ēlı̄yāh = "God is Yahweh").

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature [3]

( Ἀϊδίας , for Elias), one of the "sons" of Ela, who divorced his Gentile wife ( 1 Esdras 9:27 ), evidently the ELIAH (See Eliah) (q.v.) of the genuine text ( Ezra 10:26 ).
