Receiving a mission to preach, he went to the remotest parts of Sicily, addressing Jews as well as Christians. He died in a solitude near Messina, Aug. 7, 1292, and, according to common opinion, was buried there, in the church of the convent of his order. Part of his relics were taken to the convent at Monte Trapani. He was canonized at Rome about the middle of the 15th century, and his festival is observed Aug. 7.
