Kulik (Or Kuliketu) [1]

Kulik (or Kuliketu)

one of the chiefs of the Nagas, or serpents, in Hindf. mythology, who complained to the Lord of the universe that for no fault of his he was continually tormented by the Suras, or inferior gods. In answer to his prayer, Brahma is said to have enjoined that he should receive adoration like the devas from each human being, and that mortals who refused to pay such worship to him should be cut off by some unnatural death, and deprived of the power of rising higher in the scale of created beings.
