Biztha [1]

(Heb. Biztzha', בַּזְתָא , according to Gesenius, for the Persian Beste, "castrated;" but First compares the last syllable with the Sanscrit Zata, "horn;" the termination that is evidently Persic; (See Bigtha); Sept. Βαζεά v. r. Βαζάν ), the second of the seven eunuchs ('"chamberlains") of the harem of Xerxes (Ahasuerus) who were ordered to bring Vashti forth for exhibition ( Esther 1:10). B.C. 483.
