Henry H. Bates [1]

a Protestant Episcopal clergyman of the Diocese of New York, was rector in Tariffville, Conn., for several years until 1859, when he became rector of the Church of the Messiah at Glenn's Falls, N. Y. Here he served until 1862, when he became a chaplain in the United States Army. He was minister of St. Paul's Church, Oak Hill, N. Y., from 1864 until his death, Jan. 14, 1868. See Prot. Episc.
