Ir-Ham-Melach [1]

( עַיר הִמֵּלַח, city of the salt, so called prob. from the salt rocks still found in that vicinity; Sept. ἡ πόλις τῶν ἁλῶν,Vulg. civitas salis, Auth. Vers. "City of Salt"), a city in the Desert of Judah, mentioned between Nibshan and En-gedi ( Joshua 15:62); probably situated near the south-western part of the Dead Sea. Compare the "Valley of Salt" ( 2 Samuel 8:13; Psalms 60:2).
