1: Παλαιότης (Strong'S #3821 — Noun Feminine — palaiotes — pal-ah-yot'-ace )
from palaios (see A, No. 2, above), occurs in Romans 7:6 , of "the letter," i.e., "the law," with its rules of conduct, mere outward conformity to which has yielded place in the believer's service to a response to the inward operation of the Holy Spirit. The word is contrasted with kainotes, "newness."
