(Heb. Beyth ha-Eli', בֵּית הָאלִֵי; Sept. ὁ Βαιθηλίτης ), a designation of Hiel, who rebuilt Jericho, and experienced the curse pronounced long before ( 1 Kings 16:34); doubtless a native of Bethel in Benjamin.
