a Scotch clergyman, brother of David, minister at Stow, was licensed to preach January 7, 1735; called to the living at Traquair, and ordained assistant and successor, September 12, 1738; transferred to Smailholm, October 26, 1743; and died September 29, 1795, aged eighty-six years.
