an eminent French painter and engraver, was born at Paris in 1654. He went to Rome, and after remaining there four years, executed the grand altar-piece for the Feuillants at: Foligno. He afterwards visited Venice, where he remained ten years. The work which does him most honor is the cupola of the cathedral at Trent. He died at Verona in 1742. See Spooner, Biog.
