Morrish Bible Dictionary [1]

Symbolical name given by God through Jeremiah to Pashur the priest who had beaten him and placed him in the stocks.  Jeremiah 20:1-3 . In the margin it is 'fear round about.' The same Hebrew is translated 'fear on every side' in  Jeremiah 20:10 . God would make Pashur a terror to himself and to all his friends. He had prophesied lies, and should die in Babylon.  Jeremiah 20:6 .

Ma'gor-mis'sabib. (terror on every side). The name given by Jeremiah, to Pashur, the priest, when he smote him and put him in the stocks for prophesying against the idolatry of Jerusalem.  Jeremiah 20:3.
