Vers. the following Hebrew words: מַלָּה, millah' ( Job 30:9), a word or speech (as elsewhere rendered); מָשָׁל, mashal ( Psalms 44:14), a proverb or parable (as elsewhere); so the kindred מְשֹׁל, meshol ( Job 17:6); but properly: שְׁנַינָה, sheninah', sharp words in derision ( Deuteronomy 28:37; 1 Kings 9:7; 2 Chronicles 7:20; "taunt," Jeremiah 24:9).
