1. A priest, son of Uzzi and father of Meraioth, in the ancestry of the later Jewish pontiffs (1 Chronicles 6:6; 1 Chronicles 6:51 [Heb. 5:32; 6:30]), and of Ezra (Ezra 7:4). B.C. cir. 1350. (See High-Priest).
2. Father of Elihoenai "of the sons of Pahath-moab" (Ezra 8:4). B.C. ante 459.

(1) A priest of the line of Eleazar (1 Chronicles 6:6 , 1 Chronicles 6:51; Ezra 7:4 ).
(2) A head of a family, who returned with Ezra from Babylon (Ezra 8:4 ).
