rē - el - ā´ya , rē - el - ı̄´a ( רעליה , re‛ēlyāh ): One of the 12 chiefs who returned with Zerubbabel ( Ezra 2:2 parallel Nehemiah 7:7 ). In the passage in Neh the name is Raamiah" (רעמיה , ră‛amyāh ), and in 1 Esdras 5:8 "Resaias." Which is the original, it is almost impossible to decide; "Reelaiah" seems preferable.

(Heb. Reelayah', רְעֵלָיָה fearer of Jehovah; Sept. ῾Ρεελίας ), one of "the children of the province" who returned from Babylon with Zerubbabel (Ezra 2:2); called in the parallel passage (Nehemiah 7:7) by the synonym RAAMIAH (See Raamiah) (q.v.).
