Hastings' Dictionary of the Bible [1]

CHOSAMÆUS ( 1E Esther 9:32 ). It is not improbable that the Gr. reading is due to a copyist’s error, especially seeing that the three proper names that follow Simeon in the text of Ezra 10:31 are omitted in 1 Esdras.

International Standard Bible Encyclopedia [2]

kos -a -mē´us (A, Σίμων Χοσαμαῖος , Simōn Chosamaı́os  ; B, Χοσάμαος , Chosámaos ): Occurs in 1 Esdras 9:32 as the name of one of the sons of Annas. But in the parallel passage (Ezra 10:31 ) the name is simply Shimeon followed by "Benjamin, Malluch, Shemariah," which are omitted in 1 Esdras. The Septuagint of Ezra 10:31 has Σεμεών , Semeō̇n , followed by the three omitted names. The difference may have arisen from a mistake of a copyist, or from the use of an imperfect MS.

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature [3]

(Χοσαμαῖος ), a name given in the Apocrypha (1 Esdras 9:32) apparently as a surname or epithet of one Simon, in the list of "Temple servants" returned from the Captivity; but nothing corresponding to either name appears in the Hebrew text (Ezra 2:47).
