1. The operation of making butter from cream by agitation a shaking or stirring. 2. As much butter as is made at one operation.

(מִיוֹ, mits, squeezing) signifies the act of pressing (Proverbs 30:33), being the same word rendered "wringing" and "forcing" in the same verse, and agrees with the Eastern mode of making butter (see Thomson, Land and Book, 1:393). (See Butter).
